Sometimes called the ‘STEM cliff’, these kids stop taking math and science in school and pursue career paths in other disciplines. Komal Singh, engineer and bestselling author of the children’s book, Ara The Star Engineer, will explore how an inclusive-educative-whimsical product ecosystem can play a role in inventing future STEM stars. Singh debuted as an author with the release of her empowering STEM book, Ara The Star Engineer (her 20% passion project at Google), which was a bestseller on launch day. The book sets out to inspire kids and minorities to explore the magic of STEM by featuring real-life women engineering leaders of diverse backgrounds.
Komal grew up in India and studied Computer Science at Delhi University and later moved to Canada to complete her Masters’ in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University.
